Public comments included announcements about upcoming events. Safeway’s attorney, realtor, architect, and engineers presented their renovation plans for the Olney Safeway. The building will LEED certified, the underground parking will have natural lighting, and a ¾ acre circular park will beautify one side. Duchy Tractenburg listed budget cuts and ways the county will raise revenue but warned about future cuts. Committee reports were brief. Chuck Graefe motioned that GOCA join SEROCA to limit the upcoming church’s parking spaces, and the motion passed. Joe Fritsch described the planned Lake Frank Trail and the surrounding neighbors’ opposition. Joe Morrison motioned that GOCA accept the bike plan and Bob Beard seconded the motion. It was almost tabled but was approved by a majority.
